AWARE Wildlife Center

The AWARE Wildlife Center rehabilitates injured and orphaned native Georgia wild animals and educates the public about peaceful coexistence with wildlife. On the rehabilitation side, AWARE accepts up to 2,000 injured and orphaned animals every year as patients at its center just east of Atlanta. On the education side, AWARE delivers hundreds of ambassador programs at schools and festivals across Georgia, offers free tours every Saturday and Sunday at 1PM, and reaches millions through streaming media broadcasts of educational wildlife encounters and releases of rehabilitated patients.

Canine Cellmates

Canine CellMates began on June 3, 2013 in Fulton County Jail, in Atlanta, Georgia. Canine CellMates works with the Fulton County Sheriff's Department and the Fulton County Jail to provide a 10 week training program that is as much about rehabilitation and the reduction of recidivism as it is about saving shelter dogs.  The ultimate goal is that each dog graduates and goes into a loving and forever home, and men that have evolved while in the program, and supported upon their release, go on to live productive lives without further incarceration.

Furkids, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, operates a cage-free, no-kill shelter for rescued cats, and Sadie's Place, a no-kill shelter for dogs. Furkids also operates one of the only facilities in the Southeast dedicated to the care of FIV positive cats. The Furkids mission is to rescue homeless animals, provide them with the best medical care and nurturing environment while working to find them a forever home. Furkids heals the whole animal, physically and emotionally, restoring its health and its spirit.
