April 25 Rock for Rescues music festival forced to reschedule
Coronavirus requires Woodstock venue to postpone event
WOODSTOCK, GA., –– With newly issued public health guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding community gatherings and social distancing in order to curb the spread of the Coronavirus, Rock for Rescues festival organizers were informed by Woodstock city officials this week that the April 25 music festival at the amphitheater would need to be rescheduled.
“We’re all feeling the impacts of this pandemic—our sponsors, musicians and our nonprofits,” said Ray Baker, festival founder and Vox Artium Foundation board member. “Naturally we’re disappointed, but the health and welfare of the community and our partners is the top priority.”
Rock for Rescues is working with the staff at Woodstock’s Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater to identify a new fall date. Festival organizers plan to announce the new fall date as soon as it can be confirmed, recognizing Woodstock staff have a number of event cancellations to manage in the coming weeks.
“We’re looking forward announcing the new date soon,” said Baker. “So stay tuned!”

“This is without question having a widespread impact on the economy,” said Laura Jesseph, Vox board member. “And when the economy is down that has a tremendous ripple effect on local nonprofits, so we’re asking for any support the public can share.”
Rock for Rescues, the leading annual fundraising event for the Vox Artium Foundation, benefits select animal welfare organizations. Net proceeds for the annual festival along with a year-round program of events equally benefit a select group of nonprofits dedicated to serving animal welfare needs. Donations are also accepted online at www.rockforrescues.org. Since its inception, Vox has raised almost $20,000 to help meet the unique animal welfare needs of metro-Atlanta.
